Changing Lives and Hearts December 30, 2008
While Dr. Greg is on his own mission to educate the children most remote in Pakistan and Afghanistan, his story will also change hearts.
His relationships and experiences shared in this book, through his life's work are extraordinary to say the least.
A definate must read. Hopefully this book will be put on school curriculums to enable young people especially Canadians and Americans. Many are quick to judge based on news media.
Here is the truth in plain form. Full detail. Absolutely educational.
Heartwarming and Inspiring November 23, 2008
Three Cups of Tea is the story of how one man can make a difference, and should be a lesson for all of us to never give up thinking that we can make a difference. This is an excellent story about an extraordinary individual and an incredible village most of us have never heard of before. This is a must read for any outdoor enthusiast, humanitarian, and just about anyone who genuinely cares about the world and all those living in it.
For a great book of philosophy I recommend Understanding: Train of Thought.
showed me the way to empower women November 3, 2008
Being born and brought up in Pakistan, this book touched the very cord of my heart. I had always wanted to do something to empower women in my birth country Pakistan and had understood that education is the key to all malaise. I had recently come up with a plan and intended to pursue it. It is no less than a miracle, therefore, for me to have this book "Three Cups of Tea" by accident in my hand as if to prepare me how to proceed with my plan.
Being a women it is harder for me to pursue than for Mr. Mortenson, despite i being a Pakistani. But he has shown be the way and that how one person with strong desire and determination can, not only climb mountains but can move them too. I salute him and his efforts.

An absolute must-read. A massive construction tool for working with ignorance and generalized muslimophobia. Please read and share... The gentle way in which it's written makes it a great combination of an easy read and a harsh reminder of the power of the choices we make. Individually
