3 out of 5 stars Review   January 4, 2009
Though New Moon is a fluid read, it isn't as good as Twilight. And the main reason why Moon is inferior to Twilight is the character of Bella - could she be any more of a damsel in distress? She becomes so weak in this book that I couldn't understand why any of the other characters cared about her and, by book's end, I'm not sure I cared any more either.

5 out of 5 stars Heartbreaking, tragic, wonderful!   December 13, 2008
Better than the first!

This novel captured my attention from the very start, and nearly had me in tears through the first few chapters!
Bella's emotional anguish was my pain too...
I could understand the exactly how she felt because I'd been there.

Jacob became a complex character that could occasionally get on your nerves, but no one's perfect. (no, not even Edward.)

Interwoven through the chapters are references to and analogies using 'Romeo & Juliet'. An interesting theme on the author's part. Making things quite complex.

Edward's melodramatic personallity became his saving grace. And for once it was Bella to the rescue!

Some loose ends on this novel, (some intentional, and some that I'm sure would have made sense to tie up here) but I can only assume it's adressed in the next novel.

Sad and depressing?
Definitely.

Worth it?
Heck yeah!

4 out of 5 stars I'm still thirsty for more.   December 8, 2008
Although this book wasn't quiet as breathtaking as the first part of the twilight saga, it was still very, very good. So good I finished it in a little over a day and I couldn't do anything else until it was finished. I have to admit I'm in love with Edward so I was a little disappointed that he didn't feature quiet so prominently in this book but I'm sure if I hadn't been quiet so besotted with Edward I would have been able to enjoy the story just that little bit more.

4 out of 5 stars Old Theme With New Energy and Twists   November 26, 2008
Reality takes some strange bends around the small rural town near the ocean where Bella, an eighteen year old senior in high school, lives with her father, Charlie, a sheriff. Bella finds herself caught between the world of vampires and a significant other among them and a world of Indian legends come to life. The conflicts and drama do create many moments of frightful suspense, and teenage love takes new twists. Bella narrates the story and much of the book is devoted in quite an effective fashion to her emotional responses to events. More details would ruin the plot, so get the book for those. It's a fun read.Translator's Kiss

3 out of 5 stars Boring.   October 10, 2008
I have to admit i had high expectations for this book, i read twilight and LOVED it but when i read this...i was bored and got to the point where i put the book down and called my friend [who had previously read new moon] and got her to explain the chapters up until when edward comes back, thats when the book becomes good again...i dislike jacob a lot, when you get to the 4th book you'll understand...i especially hate how he treats edward, just so everyone knows when you read this book scan through the pages...dont let the whole 'its a major in the next book' thing scare you, because its not.
